Archilogic is remote-first and globally distributed - our largest presence is in Zurich, Switzerland, with further teams and team members in the US, Europe, South America, India, and Russia.



About this role


As an important part of our Finance team, this role will help ensure that all accounting processes at Archilogic run accurately and efficiently, and are set up to scale as the business grows. The Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of the accounts of our Swiss company and its US subsidiary, the account receivables, account payables and payment runs, as well as assisting in preparing the monthly management reports and implementing budgets. The role will also assist with audit preparations and coordinate and prepare the annual financial statements according to the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) and SWISS GAAP FER.


Our team is small, but growing, with this role offering a lot of potential to grow in a fast-paced startup environment. We're looking for a candidate that can hit the ground running and take on all daily operational tasks, while drawing on their experience and knowledge of the latest tools and best practices to help continually develop and improve processes that can support our scaling business. In addition, this role will act as the main point of contact with our external accountants while helping to move many of these processes in-house.


With big plans ahead for the Company, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills and have a significant impact on shaping the Finance team, building upon your knowledge of the latest finance tools and systems, and supporting Archilogic in a very exciting period of growth.

 

This role is remote-first, however we are looking for a candidate that is commuting distance to our Zurich office in order to occasionally come in to handle bills, banking correspondence, etc as needed.



What success in this role looks like


  • Payments and payroll processes run smoothly and opportunities for improvement in efficiency and controls are continuously reviewed
  • Invoicing and credit control processes are performed accurately and timely
  • The timeliness and efficiency of the month-end close process is improved within the first quarter after starting
  • Compliance, regulatory and insurance requirements are maintained in Switzerland, the US, and any other region Archilogic operates in
  • Processes to be taken over from external accountants are successfully transitioned in-house
  • Cost categorisation is implemented to allow for Budget review and analysis



What we are looking for


  • You have at least 3-5 years of financial accounting experience, preferably in an international setting
  • You bring a good knowledge of balance sheet accounting, invoicing, and reporting requirements (OR, SWISS GAAP FER, consolidation)
  • Experience with and a passion for implementing the latest and best finance tools and systems (knowledge of Xero is an advantage)
  • You can operate with success in a Remote-first environment
  • You will thrive in a startup environment that emphasizes curiosity, initiative, and accountability, and you are not afraid to change the status quo
  • Your attention to detail is impeccable
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English
  • Nice to have: Experience working with and accounting for US entities
  • Nice to have: Experience working in a globally distributed company and with a global workforce HR and payroll platform such as Papaya, Remote, etc



What you'll be doing


You will be working with an internationally distributed team, reporting directly to Archilogic's VP of Finance. Significant parts of your day-to-day will include:

  • Running the bi-weekly payments and monthly payroll processes
  • Month-end close process and preparing the monthly management reports
  • Preparing monthly invoicing for customers and carrying out credit control
  • Coordinating and working with our external resource providers, including external accountants, outsourced payroll, insurance brokers, etc
  • Working closely with the rest of the Archilogic team on all accounting-related matters including payroll, expenses, invoicing, budgeting, etc
  • Assisting the VP of Finance in preparing budgets and other ad hoc reporting
  • Learning about the latest finance best practices and looking for ways to create efficiencies via new tools or improvements to existing processes
